Intergenerational Leadership Workshop
About The Program
Participants will develop a knowledge and understanding of:
- The differing ways of thinking, values and work preferences of team members from different generations
- The challenges facing leaders and managers of team members across generations when seeking to develop cohesive team practices
- Strategies for upholding the dignity of all team members, regardless of their personal contexts
- Actions which can be taken by leaders and in teams to enhance inclusiveness and celebrate difference in relation to the age of team members
Participants are guided through an exploration of the opportunities and challenges involved when working with team members from a range of generations in the workplace. The empty vessel philosophy commonly applied to Generation Z employees, as well as to Baby Boomers, is debunked, as the facilitator explains the strengths that all team members can bring to the workplace when a leader and a culture prioritise open communication. Provocations around team vision and values are issued, and participants are also guided through an understanding of the importance of the experience of dignity for employees. Tools are provided to participants for effective communication before participants engage in collaborative discussions around key learnings and actions.
